Don’t forget Pearl Harbor, the day that will live in infamy!
Broodfire: Why should we forget these things? It is one of the more important things in history. Go there and stand on the Arizona Memorial as i have 2 times and see how you feel!.
Marcia . You have some very good points there. Some of my thoughts on it,too.
I was there standing on the Arizona Memorial 2 different times and to look down and seeing the oil slick still coming out just gives you thar eerie feeling.
It is a tragic time in history but you should try to forget about those things…

I remembered it this morning, my mother joined the WACs right after Pearl Harbor, she had gotten a great job in Washington, D.C. and had a good future there, she ended up never being able to work again because of her sacrifice.

Yes, I remembered. My 23-year-old brother was in the Navy when I was only 4. I do not remember the bombing, though he never came back home after that War…MIA. Forget, yeah right!

I remembered that it was today. I wasn’t alive in 1941, but my father got drafted soon after. My parents got married before he went overseas. I became interested in WW2 as an adult. My dad didn’t talk much about it but I remember his uniform hung in the closet for years.

I wasn’t born yet but I do remember growing up and my family always remembered December 7. My Dad would always tell the story about how the entire country sat around radios to hear FDR’s speech about declaring war on Japan. My husband was 7 years old when it happened and he remembers it. No, we should never forget dates that changed our country forever. We also should never forget that if it hadn’t been for the men and women of this country banding together to fight Japan and Germany we would not

You bet I remembered that date. I wasn’t born yet, but it is still a date in history to remember as Roosevelt stated it would be. I also remember the exact day that my father was critically wounded in WWII and call him every year on that anniversary. We must not forget. He appreciates that I am the only one in the family that remembers it. How much more do our vets appreciate our support of their service? Thank a vet every time you see one.
